Too many contractors rush to break ground, and that’s where the chaos starts. Honeycomb spends twice as long in design, which means your build is faster, smoother, and has fewer surprises. Every project comes with a detailed 40+ page scope of work, an architect and structural engineer in-house, and budget creep that averages under 2%. Add in a woman-led team with Netflix + HGTV credibility and a no-asshole policy, and you’ve got a process that feels as good as the result. #### How long does a remodel usually take? It depends on the project, but because of our planning-first process, our timelines are shorter than the industry norm: - **Kitchens**: typically 9–12 weeks of build time - **Bathrooms**: 4–6 weeks of build time - **Additions and whole-home remodels**: vary based on scope, but always managed with clear milestones and transparent timelines The secret? We make every decision before construction starts. That means fewer delays, no chasing down last-minute finishes, and a project that actually runs on schedule. #### What’s the average investment for a Honeycomb remodel? While every project is unique, most of our work falls within these ranges. - **Kitchen remodels:** $125k–$300k - **Bathroom remodels:** $70k–$90k - **Additions and whole-home remodels:** $400k+ We know we’re not the cheapest option in town, and that’s by design. We prioritize planning, quality, and craftsmanship, which means fewer headaches, fewer change orders, and a remodel you’ll love for decades. #### Do you offer aging in place remodeling? Yes. Many of our clients are planning for the future and want homes that are both safe and stylish. Aging in place projects include thoughtful choices like walk-in showers, wider doorways, no-step entries, smart lighting, and well-planned storage. Our San Diego aging in place remodels let you (or your parents) stay comfortably at home. #### Can you build from plans I already have? Yes. While most clients choose our full design & remodel service, we can also build from existing plans created by another architect or designer. We’ll review the plans carefully, flag any issues we foresee, and then bring your project to life with the same care and precision we apply to our own designs. #### What if I only need design services? We do offer design-only services for homeowners who already have a builder in mind. Our team will create a detailed, permit-ready set of plans with finishes, materials, and a full scope of work. Even if Honeycomb doesn’t handle the construction, you’ll benefit from our planning-first philosophy and signature attention to detail. #### Who will I be working with throughout the process? You’ll work directly with our in-house team, not a revolving door of subs you never meet. Our core team includes: - Ati Williams, licensed general contractor and TV personality - Lead designer for all finishes and interiors - Architect and structural engineer for technical precision - Project manager who gives you weekly updates We’re small enough to feel personal, but structured enough to keep everything moving smoothly.
